Match Report: 27th November 2004

First team: BOURNE 5 OLLERTON 88
Ollerton had an easy win away at Bourne in the first round of the NLD cup. Ollerton had a great start with the forwards dominating, setting good ball up for the backs. The tries soon came thick and fast for Ollerton. Winger Eric Cranmer scored a first half hat trick, Full back Luke Dymyd scored two fine individual tries, Winger Steve Hallam scored a brace, Fly half Chris Ford burst through several tackles to score and Man of the Match Flanker Clayton Butler crashed over just before half time.

Halt time: 45 - 0

In the second half Bourne attacked Ollerton and were rewarded with their only try of the game. Ollerton then turned on the style with some excellent running rugby and ran in tries at will. Cranmer scored another hat trick making his total 6 for the day, other tries came from Hallam going over for his hat trick, Chris Ford making his brace, and his father Scrum Half Fred scoring out wide. To finish the game off 2nd Row Darren Wilford's excellent support play was rewarded with a try under the posts. Due to Ollerton not having their regular kicker they only managed to convert 4 out of 16 tries. This was a great team performance from Ollerton who are back in league action next week away at Buxton.
